Here, you will be able to assign your character new abilities as necessary as well as view your combat statistics. Your statistics will vary based on the element you're capable of bending and later, how you decide to use it. There are three primary stats being Power, Resistance, and Agility. These numbers are assigned a specific letter grade to indicate their rate of growth. These letters in order of lowest to highest are D, C, B, A, S, and EX. Your base rate of growth will typically be D-B, but can go up or down based on choices you make as you grow stronger. In addition, you may find certain items to permanently raise your stats by a small amount. Be aware though, these are one-time uses and can only be used on a single person. Whether it's to shore up a weakness or to accentuate a strength, it's up to you to determine the best candidate.
The effects they have are as follows;
Power determines your overall damage dealt. With a high enough power, you may qualify for critical attacks. Firebenders have excellent power growth, while airbenders have poor power growth.
Resistance determines your durability. At certain thresholds, your HP will increase alongside it. Earthbenders have excellent resistance growth, while firebenders have poor resistance growth.
Agility determines your rate of movement. If your agility is significantly higher than your opponent's, you may be able to strike them first despite not being the attacker. In extreme cases, you may be able to strike them twice. Airbenders have excellent agility growth, while earthbenders have poor agility growth.
Waterbenders have neutral growth in all three statistics.
In addition to basic statistics, you'll be able to select from a variety of passive and active abilities based on your bending capabilities. At first, you'll be able to choose from one of six abilities. Three unique to your bending, and three non-bending techniques available to all.
FIREBENDING ABILITIES
Encroaching flames: Your basic firebending attack reaches a single space farther.
Fire Daggers: You strike an enemy next to you twice with a pair of flaming daggers, each dealing 1.25x power. 3 turn cooldown.
Flaming wave: You deal damage to all enemies within a 10-foot cone in front of you, equaling 1.5x power and preventing counterattacks. 5 turn cooldown.
WATERBENDING ABILITIES
Healing Waters: You may restore up to 5 HP to a single ally. 3 turn cooldown.
Ebb and Flow: Your counterattacks now deals 1.1x power.
Frostbite: You cover the target in a thin layer of ice, dealing 1.25x power and slowing their movement by 1 for 3 turns. 5 turn cooldown.
EARTHBENDING ABILITIES
Firm Stance: You bury your feet in the earth to take a firm stance and brace yourself against oncoming attacks. You gain increased resistance for 1 turn.
Boulder Heave: Hurl a large boulder at a target, dealing 1.5x power. 3 turn cooldown.
Rock Spikes: You send out a wave of spikes in a 15-foot line dealing 1.25x power. 4 turn cooldown.
AIRBENDING ABILITIES
Airglide: You double your movement for the remainder of the round
Painful Gust: You blast the opponent with the wind, dealing 1.25x power and knocking them 10 feet backward. 2 turn cooldown.
Wind Barrier: You create a small barrier around an ally, absorbing 3 damage before being broken. 3 turn cooldown.
NONBENDING ABILITIES
Melee weapon proficiency: You gain proficiency with a melee weapon of your choice. You may attack an adjacent enemy for 1.2x power. This has no cooldown and may also be used to counterattack, provided you are within range.
Parrying Proficiency: When adjacent to an enemy, you have a 20% chance to negate their counterattack
Ranged Proficiency: You gain proficiency with a ranged weapon of your choice. You may use this at a range of 10 feet and it deals 1.1x power. This ability has no cooldown, but cannot be used to counterattack.
