Welcome to the city of Jacketcot. A coastal city that is home to the adventurers guild known as Twin Dawn. While the guild might not be the biggest guild or have the most powerful adventurers, they have garnered a reputation for never turning down a job, regardless of what it is. They take any job from guarding a wealthy merchant on his business trip to the next town, to filling in as a stage hand at the local theatre. No job is too small for the rambunctious guild of adventurers. Members of the guild come from everywhere with every sort of background. Some joined because they needed the money, others because they heard rumours of the well known guild, but many were taken in by the guild master, Cassandra, at their lowest point and given a home and work to do. New guild members file in every month, and if they can get past the chaos of guild life, they are welcomed to the family.

Some say that they are too immature, some claim that their do everything attitude steals jobs from other guilds. Some believe they are hoarding powerful magical artifacts and using the good will they built in the town as a guise to hide other intentions. Such things make Twin Dawn a target for others who use less savoury methods to get what they want.
Twin Dawn takes in all manner of people, you have very few restictions on what you want for your character as long as it is within reason. No creating characters with the abilities to screw over others too easily, everyone has their faults, everyone has to have a fighting chance. While there is going to be a plot, and contracts to take, but this roleplay relies on people making their own fun, making their own friendships and rivalries and stories they want to tell. I am more than happy to help work on creating a contract that will bring in conflicts and backstories for characters, and run them myself. No one will have to run a mission even if they have an idea for what they want to see. That being said ideas might be shifted to better fit the narrative of the roleplay.

General Personality: Quiet and reserved, tending to appear emotionally still. But occasionally a very social and flirtatious side comes out.
Backstory: (Note: Not a lot of this is publicly known) Holden was the typical, good looking roguish type that would attempt to woo or charm the pants off of anyone he came across. But at 25 after a long pub crawl he woke up in the middle of a corn field with a ring on his finger and no recollection of how he got there. At first he continued on with his life until he tried flirting with the town crier he had been dating and began feeling pain below until his flirting ceased. This pattern continued for weeks after until a woman cloaked in shadows with a skeletal mask and rotting skin appeared in his sleep referring to him as darling. Turned out his drunken night out resulted in Holden running into Solanaceae, one of the world's grim reapers. He flirted with her not really noticing her ghoulish appearance. Her being struck at a mortal flirting with her and finding her attractive. She asked him to marry her which he jokingly considered and she took as a yes. Forming a pact with him shown in a ring he couldn't take off. Not daring to really say no to a being of death, and her offering him power for his act of selfless love, decided to confirm it. But from that point on it felt like a one sided relationship where he never saw her yet was required to mark dead bodies he found with her symbol. And he never got any physical company and any time he tried to seek it from others she'd punish him for it. As a result he went from being super charismatic and social to avoiding people unless he had a job to do or a service needed from others.

Abilities: Silvia specializes in healing magic, though it still isn't fully trained in it, so she makes up for her shortcomings with herbalism and natural healing

General Personality: Silvia is very shy and reserved. She doesn't do well with lots of people around. She isn't super confident in her abilities, but she feels the need to help anyone she can, use her abilities to better everyone else.
Backstory: Silvia grew up with just her mother in Neuran, not far from Jacketcot. The town was a business town that often got targeted for the wealth many carried. While Silvia and her mom didn't fall into the category of wealthy, that didn't mean that attackers passed the area with their shop by. In one of these incidents someone summoned a monster in town that went on a rampage. Silvia decided to sneak out of the shop after the creature, healing the wounded in it's wake. Getting caught up in the healing, she didn't notice when she got too close and nearly faced her own demise if it wasn't for the kindness of a stranger from Twin Dawn (If anyone wants to claim this as their character they can.) They took the blow for the girl, leaving her with minor injuries all things considered. Silvia did not stop her attempts at helping people though and continued to do so until her magic gave out and so did her body. Her injuries got infected and she fell ill. Thankfully her life was saved however, and after almost 8 months of healing and putting her life back together, Silvia decided to leave home to join Twin Dawn, but to her mothers protest.

Abilities: Aaron is trained with the sword, using it as his main form of fighting, supplementing it with basic magics meant to, stun, knock back, or trap enemies long enough for him to prepare the optimal strike.

General Personality: Aaron is eager to prove what he can do and impress those around him. He is super friendly and always wants to learn and grow in his abilities.
Backstory: Aaron's father abandoned him and his sister when he was young. His sister found work to support them, but Aaron always promised to pay her back one day. He started training with swords the moment he could find a teacher, and when his training was complete went off to find a guild that would take him, so he could start earning money to send back to his sister.

General Personality: Ulrich is a serious person with a fear of lightning magic but a hatred for it's wielders, he insists his prosthetics don't hold him back
and will argue with anyone who'll insist otherwise. He is direct and speaks his mind.
Backstory: Ulrich grew up in the town of Leines following in his father's footsteps to join the townguard,
During a raid on the town his left arm and leg were struck by lightning spells but due to the fighting medical care needed to wait
The limbs that had been struck had to be amputated and were replaced with stone prosthetics,
a mage taught him how to utilise his own magic potential to manipulate them.

Abilities: Arkus has both his own natural abilities and his teachings of the Way of the Heavenly Sky Sword Technique in which he has been able to use six out of the twelve forms which help to draw out his inner magic.
Weapon: Two Swords , one of which being magical and both forged by his master. The darker blade his is primary weapon while the red blade has the magic to cut through just about anything so long as he can maintain control.
General Personality: Despite being generally laid back and carefree, he does have a more serious side when it comes to his swordsmanship or should the need arise.
Backstory: Arkus grew up in a fairly standard village where he lived out the early days of his life. His carefree attitude often garnered him the attention of a mixed variety. This eventually leads him to his soon to be master who had noticed the sharp instincts that he had demonstrated. Arkus himself was uncertain, but he's always had a fondness for swordsmanship and the chance to be taught by someone who held some renown behind their title was a once in a lifetime opportunity. After four long years of training, Arkus was given a final task of sorts. To head out into the world by himself and use those experiences to shape his swordsmanship. A simple task that ended with him joining the guild Twin Dawn.

- Beast Maker: The ability to create and control a limited number of customized, beast like, monsters. The limits are based on an individual's strength, and a degree of personality can be given to the creatures in question. Older creations develop more character, even if dismissed. Circe's oldest creation is named Oleg.
- Psycho-animation: Can animate and control inanimate objects to a small degree.
- Energy Claws: Can generate sharp magical claws for use in close quarters.
Weapon: Circe primarily stays at a distance and attacks with a whip.
General Personality: Circe is a condescending control freak. She doesn't have much patience for others and is all too likely to attempt a takeover of an operation at any given time. Her oldest creation, Oleg, never questions her judgement and is all too willing to aid in whatever less than polite endeavor she comes up with. Especially if it means he gets to tear something, or someone, up.
Backstory: Born in the Kingdom of Ladon, Circe exhibited a natural talent with her ability. Traits she shared with Seth Talman, a boy who was two years her senior and her older sister Neo's best friend. Thus began her longstanding unrequited crush on the boy, much to his chagrin. She believes that the two of them are superior to others around them and that naturally they should be together. So much so that she followed both Tal and Neo all the way to Jacketcot as soon as she was old enough, enlisting in Twin Dawn to spend time with him. Naturally, this abrasive attitude and borderline obsession has put her at odds with the rest of her family over the years.

Abilities: Cassandra uses both a rapier and her magic. Her spells manifest in the form of buffs for both her party and her self, making strikes hit more sure and shields to protect the vulnerable. While some consider her magic simply support, it has immense strength behind it.
Weapon: She uses a rapier that is enchanted to sap magic from those she attacks and grant it to her.
General Personality: Cassandra is very kind and loving person, though she is fiercely protective, especially of those she considers her family, that being her guild. If you get on her bad side though or hurt her guild there is nothing in the world that will stop her wrath.
Backstory: Cassandra grew up in Jacketcot her entire life. When she was eighteen a epidemic swept through the country and took the life of her parents. While technically an adult, she found herself lost and without knowing what to do. It didn't take long for the guild master of Twin Dawn however to notice her aimless wandering and offer to take her in. He taught her how to use magic properly and how to fight, and over time he took a liking to her. Though other members had been there longer, she was groomed to be the new head of guild, so when the old guild leader passed away when she was 28, she inherited the guild.

Abilities: Petra has no real unique abilities, she isn't a fighter, but she is decently charismatic and can make a good drink.
Weapon: Petra carries a dagger that is enchanted to help guide strikes to hit, it also sends out a magical alert to the matching dagger to say that there is danger
General Personality: Petra is friends with everyone on the outside, but has some issues trusting people. While she is more than happy to chat with anyone while serving them, or help the new members of the guild, there is few that know much about her life. That is something she keeps close to her chest, instead choosing to focus on how she can help other people.
Backstory: Petra grew up in an orphanage in Carbedalo. She grew close with a few boys from there and when they were old enough, she decided to leave with one, Naeris, to see the world. They hadn't made it terribly far when Petra met a man in one of the towns and fell in love. Even though she only knew him for a few days, Petra decided to end her trip with Naeris to instead stay in the town and continue seeing the man. She lived with him for a couple years before she became pregnant with his child, though they were not married. When she was nearly half way through her term, the baby died. Not only was it painful physically but wrecked Petra emotionally. She wanted to be a mother the moment she found herself with child and when she lost it, it felt like losing a part of her. Her boyfriend however did not seem to care too much, passing it off saying that she could always have another one. Hurt even more by the fact he didn't seem to care, Petra left and with no where to go, she headed to the last place Naeris said he was, with a guild called Twin Dawn. When she had got there she begged for them to let her stay, and Cassandra agreed. Even if she couldn't be an adventurer, there was still a job for her helping around the guild with running the bar, helping new members and cleaning and such. She has been there ever since.

General Personality: A bit cocky and playful, James likes to make the best out of every situation, usually by playing jokes. He is protective of his brother, but only his brother, everyone else he could take or leave.
Backstory: Jay and his twin brother Jim came from a noble family. While Jim got all the brains, Jay got all the strength. This was something that their parents were quite proud of for a while, until Jim's experiments went too far getting him in trouble with their father. Jim was soon kicked out at the age of 17 and Jay followed, not willing to leave his brother out in the cold for long. They wandered for a while until they found a guild with a smoking hot guild leader that appreciated his ability to punch shit, and his brothers ability to make stuff. Soon they were brought on and have been there ever since.

General Personality:Naeris is a calm and friendly person, he is a bit of a perfectionist and lets the skills he honed speak for him where necessary.
Backstory: After his parents died of plague he ended up in an orphanage in Carbedalo, he made a few friends during his time there among them was Petra. As he grew up he was taught how to wield the Revenant Blade, one of the few things he had left of his family. When he was old enough Naeris trained as a gladiator for a while before returning to the orphanage and saying goodbye before starting his own journey. Petra travelled with him for a little while until she settled down, he wrote and visited her occasionally and joined the guild two years later, prefering the roof over his head and stability of guild life over his wandering lifestyle.

General Personality: Noble and honorable, Vander is quick to jump to one's aid regardless of how bad the situation looks.
Backstory: Born into the illustrious Moncroix family, no expenses were wasted in the various aspects of his life. So naturally when he took an interest in swordsmanship the same amount of effort was placed there. The Starwalt Sword style ended up being where his teachings had gone and unlike everything else that had been either handed to him or made easier, this required no shortage of effort on his part. Vander's efforts paid off and he was officially labeled a practitioner at the intermediate level. With this new experience underneath his belt, Vander set off into the world and not only see what it had to offer but to see more of this Twin Dawn guild that he had heard so much about. It had taken some time but he'd soon arrived and found that the more positive rumors about this place seemed to be true. Not that he couldn't see how the more negative ones came to being. Regardless none of that stopped him from making the guild his home for the years to come.

General Personality: Neo is a serious individual who is always focused on the mission. Though she's not the most cheerful of individuals and can be quite terse, she genuinely cares for people and simply has a hard time expressing it.
Backstory: Neo is Tal's childhood friend and Circe's older sister. Like them she was born in the Kingdom of Ladon, though unlike them she had no particular sense of genius with her given abilities. She hasn't always gotten along with Tal, but she has been a constant source of support for him through his trials growing up, and came with him to Twin Dawn two years ago. Her relationship with her younger sister on the other hand, is much more complicated.

- Pygmalion: Can draw out the latent 'soul' of an object, based on the memories, intent, and imagination of the creator and/or owner. The resulting transformation and powers cannot be altered, though they may change over time as the soul develops.
- Draw: Can draw upon the energy of other people and objects to create and manipulate weak echoes of their magic and abilities.
Weapon: Hekate - A knife that Tal received as a gift from his father when he was young. When awoken with Pygmalion it becomes a sword that can store large amounts of energy. The energy can be used to enhance the users abilities.
General Personality: Tal is a standoffish and blunt bookworm, who'd rather not get involved in whatever ridiculous scheme you're thinking up, thank you. That said, he's not really the type to ignore someone in need, either.
Backstory: Due to an incident when he was younger, distance quickly grew between Tal and his family in Ladon. The support system he found in place of them are what ultimately encouraged him to join Twin Dawn to help others. He may also have motivated to get away from Circe, but that's neither here nor there.
